Robert N. Goldsmith, D.M.D. - Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Goldsmith was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut where he majored in Biology and Neuroscience. He completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree in 2004 at the University of Connecticut. He then completed a two-year residency program in pediatric dentistry in 2006 at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He also obtained a Master of Dental Science from UMDNJ in 2006. Finally, he obtained his pediatric Board Certification in 2010.
Dr. Goldsmith is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association and New York State Dental Association.
Concerned about children’s toothbrushing habits, Dr. Goldsmith created an audio CD called Brushin’ to the Beat.
When Dr. Goldsmith is not in the office, he enjoys traveling, cooking, playing tennis and squash.
Dr. Serena Kassam
Dr. Serena Kassam was born and raised in Vancouver, BC Canada. She completed her seven year dual degree with a Bachelor of Arts (in Economics) and Doctor of Dental Medicine at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts, in May 2005. She then went on to complete her 2 year Pediatric Dental Residency Program through Lutheran Medical Center at St Josephs Hospital, Providence RI site in July 2007.
Post residency, 2007-2011, Dr Kassam stayed on as clinical attending with St Josephs Hospital (through Lutheran Medical Center), working with the pediatric dental residents. She worked as Clinical Assistant Professor, at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and split her remaining time with private practice in Plainville, MA. She also served as the Team pediatric dentist with the Rhode Island Craniofacial Team.
Dr. Kassam then returned to academia at New York University Langone Medical Center, Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, to pursue a 1 year Fellowship in Craniofacial Pediatric Dentistry and Nasoalveolar Molding completed in Sept, 2012.
Dr. Kassam has helped to start and establish NasoAlveolar Molding (NAM) clinics for infants born with cleft lip and palate, at St Josephs Hospital in Providence, RI and at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine/Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA, and Leon Becerra Hospital under Global Smile Foundation, in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
After the fellowship, she joined Lutheran Medical Center- Brooklyn main site, as clinical attending with the pediatric dental residents, worked in their School Health Program, and also joined Dr Goldsmith in the practice.
Dr. Kassam has recently joined the New York University College of Dentistry in the position of Assistant Clinical Professor and Director of Pre-Doctoral Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Jessica Zucker
Dr. Jessica Zucker completed her undergraduate degree at the University at Buffalo and went on to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. Immediately following her dental education, Dr. Zucker continued on to complete her residency training in Pediatric Dentistry at Columbia University/ NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Zucker enjoys volunteering both on a local and global level. She has participated in programs such as Give Kids a Smile Day and has traveled as far as Chile to put a smile on children’s faces. She aims to help parents establish a dental home for their children, focusing on prevention and overall oral health.
Dr. Zucker is an active member in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association and the New York State Dental Association.
When she is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach and strolling around on the Upper West Side!
